The Inspector General of Government (IGG) Justice Faith Mwondha has directed the Chairman Kisoro District Service Commission to sack district tender board secretary, Paul Manirakiza for abuse of office.
Justice Mwondha recommends that Manirakiza be sacked for his failure to disclose his interests while handling tender board matters, according to her letter dated 23rd November 2005.
The IGG has been investigating a case in which it was alleged that Manirakiza influenced the tender board to sell a motor vehicle reg.no045 UAZ to his wife instead of selling it to the highest bidder.
Justice Mwondha said the secretary tender board participated in the deliberations of the tender board yet his personal interest conflicted with his duties and responsibilities contrary to provisions of sections 8(1) and 9 of the leadership code act 2002.
She also recommended that the sale of the vehicle to Ms. Rose Manirakiza be revoked due to lack of transparency and Kisoro district should refund all the money she had paid for the purchase of the vehicle.
