Kisoro Man Wanted for Hacking Wife

A man in Kisoro district is on the run for hacking his wife to death. 

The suspect is Samuel Buhahano Nangwiki, a resident of Muganza Village, Nyakabingo Parish, Chahi Sub County in Kisoro district.   

He is wanted for chopping his wife, Naomi Chimpaye to death this morning. 

Rev. Father Ignatius Arinaitwe, who also stays in the same area, says Buhahano found Chimpaye digging in the garden around 09:28am and cut her into pieces.

According to Sanyu, the couple started feuding last year when Buhahano tried to sell the family land.

Chimpaye ran to court, which ruled in her favor in June 2019 that angered Buhahano. 

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says the suspect fled home and relocated to Kampala where he has been staying until he returned home recently.

He says they have handed over the deceased’s body to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for postmortem. 

Maate says they have opened a case of murder at Kisoro police station under file number CRB 549/2019 as they hunt for the suspect.
