Koboko Councilors Reject District Service Commission Nominees

Koboko District councillors on Monday rejected to approve three people as members of the District Service Commission.

The names of Daniel Agoi, Bakole John and Bran Sebbi Aluma were presented to the council by Muki Francis Maxwell.

Last month, the Public Service Commission rejected the nominations of Simon Adoke, Esther Witro Rose and Drani Kamajid Aloro whose names had featured among the list of five members presented by Koboko District Local Government.

However on Monday, when Muki presented the names, the angry councillors demanded answers why the names that had earlier been presented and approved by the council had been rejected by the public service commission.

Ashraf Mambo, the Koboko LCV Chairperson told the councillors that, he was not told why only Betty Dronyi Arike and Bugha Karube Twahir were approved out of the five members that were presented.

Omar Mahmoud, the Workers representative in the council noted that the District Executive Committee members were rigid to the requests by the councillors to be objective during the process of vetting members to the District Service Commission.

Koboko District Local Government has close for close to five years has been hiring the services of the District Service Commission from Obongi, Adjumani, Yumbe, and Moyo to carry out staff recruitments after the term of office of the members expired.
