Leaders in Koboko District have called for the creation of a new constituency and compensation for those who died in the fight for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) over the years.
The leaders made their demands through Hajat Medina Naham Ojale, the Director of Finance at the NRM Secretariat during the belated celebrations of the 39th NRM anniversary in Keri Town.
According to the leaders, Koboko District has been exemplary in its support for the NRM government, and they believe they deserve more recognition for their loyalty over the last 39 years.
James Mawa, the LC 3 and NRM Chairman of Keri Town Council stated that in addition to their call for a new constituency comprising Keri, Oraba Town Councils, and Kuluba Sub-county, the government should compensate the 24 NRM members and Local Council leaders who lost their lives during the struggle for NRM.

Similarly, Remo Ajobe Moro, the Secretary of Works and Technical Services for Koboko Municipality and NRM Chairman for Koboko North Division called for the fulfillment of promises to upgrade roads in Koboko Municipality. He said these upgrades were pledged by the NRM government as a reward for the strong support the people of Koboko and West Nile have shown.

However, Dr. Sharifa Aate, the Woman MP for Koboko, advised the people to be cautious with their demands, noting that such requests have financial implications, and the government has many priorities to address.

Hajat Medina Naham Ojale, who officiated at the event in Keri, urged the people to take advantage of the developments under the NRM government, assuring them that more would be done for the people of Koboko.
