Koch Goma SS Head Teacher Suspended

Kyangabo was suspended on Wednesday during an emergency meeting held at the district headquarters.
The Head teacher of Koch Goma SS Frederick Kyangabo Bannie has been suspended over a recent demonstration by students.

Kyangabo was suspended on Wednesday during an emergency meeting held at the district headquarters.

His suspension follows a peaceful demonstration by students last month when they marched to the office of the LCIII chairman John Bosco Okullu, and that of OC Koch Goma police post to register the complaints and grievances against Bannie.

The students accused the head teacher of failing to supervise his teachers who are often absent.

Nwoya District Education Officer Ayiba George Butele says they resolved to suspend Kyangabo to pave way for investigations.

According to Butele, they have also received complaints of non-payment by some non-teaching staff at the school as well as absenteeism of teachers among others.

David Odong, the deputy head teacher of the school has been temporarily assigned to take over the office of the head teacher as an acting head teacher.
