Kotido Diocese has ordained a new parish priest. Rev. Fr. Richard Mulumba was ordained Saturday at Good Sheppard Cathedral Church by Bishop Filipi Giuseppe.
This now takes the number of priests serving Kotido Diocese - with 10 parishes to 14. The newly ordained priest has been a deacon at Loyoro Archdeaconry in Kaabong before his ordination today in a mass graced by Christians and priests from Masaka and Kampala dioceses.
Fr. Mulumba is a born of Katimba Parish in Masaka district. He studied Philosophy at Alukulum Major Seminary Gulu and Theology at Gaba National Seminary.
During his ordination, Bishop Giuseppe called upon the priests to spread the good news to everyone and walk the life they teach as faithful servants of God. He encouraged the newly ordained priest to teach himself first the word of God before he teaches the rest of the Christians.
Fr. Phillip Lokel, the Vicar General and Vocations Director said in an interview at the ordination ceremony that it was an important ceremony to the Church and Kotido diocese specifically.
