Kotido Leaders Task Police to Find Missing Juveniles

The children all residents of Rengen Sub County in Kotido district were arrested on allegations of cattle thefts.

Kotido LCV Chairperson, Ambrose Lotukei has tasked Kitgum police authorities to account for three juveniles who went missing from police custody.

The children all residents of Rengen Sub County in Kotido district were arrested on allegations of cattle thefts. The children were discovered missing after 12 other suspects who had been serving remand at Kitgum Government Prison following an out of court settlement with complainants.

The group, after reaching home realized that the three juveniles, who were detained separately at Orom Police Station, were missing.

Lotuke wants the police to search and reunite the children with their families as soon as possible.

Information from Police in Kitgum indicates that the boys allegedly escaped from police custody and their whereabouts have remained unknown since May 2nd, 2019.

Robert Wanyama, the Officer in Charge Orom Police Station says they are looking for the juveniles.

A case of missing persons has been reported to the UN Human Rights Office in Kitgum and at Kitgum Central Police Station.
