Kotido Man Arrested for Killing Friend

Kotido police are holding a-19- year- old man accused of hacking his friend to death in his garden. 

James Akol, a resident of Nakapelimoru Sub County had reportedly gone with his friend, Napuwa Lomugelem to the farm at Namoru-akwaan when they developed a misunderstanding that turned tragic. 

Information obtained from the ground indicates that the duo started fighting, which prompted Akol to use a hoe to hack his friend in anguish.

The deceased’s body has since been handed to his angry relatives who also wanted to lynch Akol.  There was a fist fight between the police and the relatives of the deceased who wanted to lynch the suspect.  

According to Chilla, Police whisked the suspect to custody amidst angry reactions from the deceased’s relatives. 

The Kidepo Regional Liaisons Officer, Calisto Narucha confirmed the incident, saying police are investigating the matter to ascertain what happened.

Napuwa was also 19 years by the time his death.
