Kotido Sub County LCIII Chairperson Jailed

In 2014, Keno acquired a loan of 6.1 Million Shillings from a businessman, Moses Achuda for construction works within Kotido Sub County. He, however, failed to service the loan, prompting the businessman to file a civil suit last year.
The LC 3 Chairperson of Kotido Sub County, James Keno Chinese has been jailed for failing to pay a debt of 11 Million Shillings. Keno was on Tuesday jailed six months by the Kotido Grade One Magistrate, Phillip Nzwebe.

In 2014, Keno acquired a loan of 6.1 Million Shillings from a businessman, Moses Achuda for construction works within Kotido Sub County. He, however, failed to service the loan, prompting the businessman to file a civil suit last year.

In December, court directed Keno to refund the money including interest and damages caused.However Keno requested for a grace period of two months to pay Achuda, a commitment he failed to honor.

Keno was re-arrested on Tuesday and sent to Kotido Government Prisons.
