Kuushu town council authorities in Bududa district are stuck with six Local council stamps.

The six stamps are from Nabungara ward which comprises cells of Nabafu , Nabungara ,Shiluku South, Shiluku Central, Shiluku Main and Nabungara ward itself.

During creation of Kuushu Town council in the financial year 2018/2019, authorities from Kuushu Town Council annexed some villages from the neighboring Bulucheke Sub County and these were Shiluku South, Shiluku Central, Shiluku Main, Nabungara, Nabafu and formed Nabungara ward.

However residents from the same villages refused to be part of the town council and complained to the local government to withdraw Nabungara Ward from the town council which later allowed for exit and they were removed.

Recently during distribution of new stamps to all villages in the country by the ministry of local government, Kuushu town council which comprises 29 villages received all their stamps but plus others that were not theirs.

This is because the local government thought that Nabungara was still part of Kuushu town council.

Rashid Kutosi the Kuushu town council mayor said his office is stuck with the six stamps which are just kept in office of the Town Council and are not being used. He said they are keeping the stamps until that time when those who can lay rightful claim for them shall come.

//Cue in: “we are stack….

Cue out: …to take them”//

However L.C. 1's from those villages which were annexed say they are lacking stamps because the ones in Kuushu town council cannot work in Bulucheke Sub County.  They have apportioned the blame to the Ministry of Local Fovernment for the mistake.
