Statement from Vice Chancellor
Kyambogo University has refuted rumors circulating on social media regarding a temporary closure of the institution due to an alleged strike. In an official statement signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ely Katunguka Rwakishaya, the university confirmed that the claims are "unfounded and incorrect."
The statement emphasized that Kyambogo University remains fully operational, with all academic and non-academic activities proceeding as scheduled. The university's response came after a misleading message, titled "Temporary closure of Kyambogo University," made rounds on social media, falsely instructing students to vacate the premises within 24 hours due to a purported strike.
Professor Katunguka has urged students to dismiss the misinformation and continue with their studies and other university-related activities as planned.
