The deceased has been identified as Samuel Black, a resident of Katoma village in Isandara B Parish, Buititi Sub County in Kyenjojo district. James Kawalya, the Kyenjojo District Police Commander, says their findings show that Major Brown Mwebesa was speeding at the time of the accident.

The deceased has been identified as Samuel Black, a resident of Katoma village in Isandara B Parish, Buititi Sub County in Kyenjojo district.
Mwebesa was driving his Ford Ranger double-cabin pickup registration number UAR 898W along along Butiiti-Mukunyu road when he knocked the victim at around 9am on Thursday. Eyewitnesses say Mwebesa tried to overtake the motorcyclist but knocked him in the process killing him on spot.
James Kawalya, the Kyenjojo District Police Commander, says their findings show that Mwebesa was speeding at the time of the accident.

He says they have handed over the deceased's body to Bringing Hope to the Family hospital in Kaihura while his motorcycle is parked at the Kyenjojo police station as investigations are ongoing.
He says following the accident, residents blocked the road prompting police to negotiate with them to open it. Mwebesa agreed knocking the boda boda rider and promised to work with his family on the burial arrangements.
