Kyotera District Service Commission Secretary Arrested over Extortion

According to Sikahwa, they registered a number of complaints from job applicants implicating Kayinga for soliciting bribes from them with promises of helping them to secure public service jobs in the district.
Aaron Muyonga Kayinga, the Kyotera District Service Commission Secretary is in trouble for alleged abuse of office and soliciting of bribes from job applicants.   

He was picked up from his home at Kyakonda Village in Kasasa Sub County by officers from Kyotera Police station on the orders of the Kyotera District Police Commander, Rose Sikahwa.  

According to Sikahwa, they registered a number of complaints from job applicants implicating Kayinga for soliciting bribes from them with promises of helping them to secure public service jobs in the district.     

In May this year, Kyotera District Service Commission advertised several vacancies in the district. It is these that Kayiga is said to have used to solicit bribes from dozens of applicants.  

 

Police have also indicated that they are also investigating a big bribery scam that was allegedly perpetrated by the District Service Commission through Kayiga who also serves at the Human Resources Officer.  

The suspect is locked up at Kyotera district central Police Station.

Rose Nalubowa, the Kyotera District Service Commission Chairperson denies knowledge of the alleged corruption by the commissioners, saying police should be allowed time to investigate the claims.
