A 35-year-old Achilleo Mivule is nursing machete wounds at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital after being hacked by unknown assailants. The incident occurred at Matale village in Kalisizo town council around 8 pm on Wednesday evening.
It is alleged that the assailants waylaid Mivule in the dark and hacked him severally. The machete cut deep in his right shoulder, hand, and leg, which nearly fell off. He raised an alarm that attracted his family members who found him lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
His wife informed the neighbours who used a motorcycle to rush him to Kalisizo hospital in critical condition, where doctors referred him to Masaka Regional Referral hospital for further management.
Mivule told URN that he couldn't identify any of his attackers because they were masked. He wondered why anyone would want to end his life yet he isn't involved in any wrangles. Emmanuel Tumukunde, the Officer in Charge of Kalisizo police Station, says no suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He appealed to the residents to be vigilant following the incident.
