The Lady Doves have been crowned 2021 FUFA Women Super
League (FWSL) champions after defeating UCU Lady Cardinals 2-1 in the final played at the FUFA technical center in Njeru today.

Kisakye equalized after 70 minutes.
However, substitute Fazila Ikwaput who suffered a thigh injury during
their semi-final match against Kawempe FC on Monday on to score the winning goal after 82 minutes. But Ikwaput again limped off after landing badly on the turf while celebrating the goal.
Ikwaput told Uganda Radio Network (URN) after the match that despite the injury she is happy to help the team win the title. “In terms of
fitness, I was at about 10% fit. I am delighted that we won
this year’s trophy," added Ikwaput.
The Lady Doves’ assistant coach, Rajab Buyinza says that
they were unbeaten throughout the league due to resilience and discipline of

Meanwhile, UCU’s coach, Jimmy Kintu says that his team missed
several good scoring chances which eventually cost them the League title. Kintu however expressed displeasure in the way some referees handled matches during the tournament.
"Club owners invest a lot of money to ensure that we participate in
these competitions. However, some referees have taken it upon themselves to
handle matches poorly," added Kintu.
