Uganda’s representative in the Confederation of African Football-CAF women’s Champions league CECAFA Zonal qualifiers Lady Doves have now shifted attention to third-place finish after falling to Commercial Bank of Ethiopian (CBE) in the semi-finals.

Lady Doves lost 5-3 to CBE in penalty shootouts after a one-all draw during full-time play. Lady Doves’ goal hunter Fazira Ikwaput was on target to cancel CBE's lead following an earlier goal by Loza Abela.

Now, Uganda’s side has shifted focus to fight for the third-place finish against giants Simba Queens from Tanzania, which was also edged out by Kenya’s Vihiga Queens on Monday. This will however not be the first time Lady Doves is facing Simba Queens in the same championship.

The two sides had an encounter in the group stages but their clash ended in a goalless draw. Lady Doves Head coach, Fred Musiime says that the technical bench will have to re-strategize and settle for a third-place finish.
