Police in Lamwo are investigating the death of a worker of Keystone Construction
The deceased was identified as Ivan Ahimbisibwe, 24. Ahimbisibwe
was part of the workers constructing UNHCR offices in Palabek Kal Sub County, Lamwo
Eyewitnesses told police that on Monday, Ahimbisibwe was in
the company of his colleagues who went out to drink in a local bar, but
returned home in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.
“On Tuesday morning at 6:00 am his friends found him lying helplessly and was
rushed to Happy Time Clinic, a private health facility in Palabek Kal Town
Council,” said ASP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa River Region Police
Okema added that the deceased was pronounced dead on arrival. He says
that the police have opened an inquiry file into the incident.
The UNHCR with Office of the Prime Minister - OPM and other
humanitarian agencies are carrying interventions in Lamwo in Palabek Ogili,
Palabek Gem and Palabek Kal sub-counties where at least 34,000 South Sudanese
refugees are settled.
