On Tuesday, police arrested Kimera for allegedly disarming Corporal Jack Rutabaleka, while on duty. The incident happened during the youth elections at Kiyaga Zone Bwaise I, Kawempe Division during the declaration of results.
The
Kiyaga Zone LCI Chairperson in Kawempe Division who allegedly disarmed a policeman has been remanded to Kasangati Prison.
On Tuesday, police arrested Joachim Kimera for allegedly disarming Corporal Jack Rutabaleka,
while on duty. The incident happened during the youth elections at Kiyaga Zone
Bwaise I, Kawempe Division during the declaration of results.
It
is alleged that the youth turned to Rutabaleka, who was providing security at
the venue and insulted him.
According to police, six men came from behind and grabbed him and in
the process, Kimera disarmed him.
On Thursday, Kimera and Twaha Nkata, the youth chairperson appeared before Nabweru Court Grade
One Magistrate Achok Abrahams Moding on charges of being armed in a public
place contrary to section 75 (a) of the Penal Code Act.
They
denied the charges and were remanded to Kasangati Prisons until August 27th.

Their bail application was denied after the state prosecutor Chris Kahiigwa told
the court that investigations into the matter are still on-going.
