Lightning Claims Two, Injures Two Others In Agago

Kalongo Town Council LC III Chairperson, Elijah Olaa says they were still trying to get proper identities of the deceased to enable them trace for their relatives.
Lightning has struck dead two people and injured two others critically in Agago District.

The incident happened during a mild drizzle about 4pm on Tuesday in Ogwal-Owoo Ward in Kalongo Town council.

The deceased have only been identified as Olara and Okema, both residents of Parumu Parish in Parabongo Sub county. 

The injured are  38- year-old Judith Anen and her daughter Cathy Amolo 20, both residents of Ogwal-Owoo ward.

Suzan Atoo, the Area LC I Chairperson told URN in an interview that the deceased were drinking Waragi under a mango tree when they were struck by lightning.

Atoo says the injured were rushed to Dr. Ambrosoli Memorial Hospital for treatment while the bodies are in the hospital mortuary pending postmortem.

She describes the incident as unfortunate.

The incident comes less than a month after 13-year-old Ivan Ebong, a Primary Seven pupil of Lala Primary school was struck dead by lightning in Odom village in Adillang Sub County.
