Lightning Strikes 12 Pupils in Kibaale

Prosy Namuleme, the School Senior woman teacher told Uganda Radio Network that the affected pupils are from P.3, P.4, P.5, P.6 and P.7.

Twelve pupils of St. Paul Primary school in Kayanja Sub County in Kibaale district are admitted at St. Albert Medical Clinic in Kibaale district after being struck by lightning. 

The pupils were hit by thunderbolt during a heavy down pour around 4pm on Monday. 

Some of the injured pupils are Scovia Katusabe, Noweline Kemigisa, Tedson Asasiraho, Lillian Kembabazi, Betty Atuhura, Margret and Joanita.     

Prosy Namuleme, the School Senior woman teacher told Uganda Radio Network that the affected pupils are from P.3, P.4, P.5, P.6 and P.7. 

She says all the twelve pupils were unconscious after being struck by lightning.   Namuleme says the pupils were in class when the thunderbolt struck.

By time of filing this story, most of the pupils were still unconscious. 

In June, Lightning struck dead three pupils of Kisalizi primary school in Kibaale district. 

 The deceased were identified as Robert Zabayo 14, Merina Mbabazi 6, and Moses Alinaitwe 7.
