Lira Nursing School Gets UGX 1 Billion Hostel

Margaret Okwii, the deputy principal Lira Comprehensive School of nursing and midwifery is excited that government has finally addressed the accommodation problem at the school.
Government has constructed a new student’s hostel worth one billion shillings at Lira Comprehensive School of nursing and midwifery. The hostel, which is scheduled to be commissioned in July this year, is expected to accommodate more than 300 students to ease on the congestion at the school.

 

Andrew Ewanyu, an Engineer at the Education and sports ministry who supervised the construction work says government intervened as a result of complaints of congestion at the nursing school. She says that with the completion of the hostel, they will increase their enrollment. Ben Ogwang Ocoo, the chairpersonLira Comprehensive School of nursing and midwiferygoverning council says they have already invited President Yoweri Museveni through the education ministry to commission the hostel in July. Lira School of Comprehensive Nursing and Midwifery is government aided and has more than 600 students.
