Betty Aol Ochan, the Leader of Opposition has applauded the General Court Martial for dropping charges against the Kyadondo East Member of parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine.
According to Aol, the decision by the UPDF General Court Martial to terminate the charges against Kyagulanyi is a big step.

She was addressing journalists shortly after the General Court Martial chairman, Lt. General Andrew Gutti announced that they were discontinuing the trial of Kyagulanyi and allow the civil court to take over the matter.
Aol asked government to drop all the charges against the legislator, his colleagues and suspects picked up in connection to the chaos that broke out ahead of the Arua municipality parliamentary by elections.
Shortly after his release by the court martial, Kyagulanyi was rearrested by police and arraigned in the Gulu grade one magistrate's court for treason.
He was remanded to Gulu Central Prisons where he joins several 30 other suspects including MPs Gerald Karuhanga, Paul Mwiru, Kassiano Wadri and former MP, Michael Mabikke.
According to Aol, unless government drops the charges against all the suspects, they will continue protesting. The opposition Deputy Chief Whip, Harold Muhindo, asked all arms of Government to execute their mandate without one being seen to suppress the other.
He condemned the torture of the detained legislators and suspects and accused some individuals at Parliament for conniving with government to conceal the truth.

The army dragged Kyagulanyi to the UPDF General court martial last week for alleged illegal possession of fire arms and ammunition.
The charges stemmed from the Arua municipality by elections after unidentified people believed to be supports of Kasiano Wadri, the Arua Municipality MP elect allegedly pelted president, Yoweri Museveni's convoy with stones as he was returning from the last campaign rally at Boma grounds in Arua municipality on Monday last week.
Kyagulanyi was picked up for Pacific Hotel where the army also claimed to have recovered two AK 47 rifles and ammunition, a charge the opposition has roundly rejected, accusing government of slapping trumped up charges against the legislator.
