Council LCIII Chairperson Chris Johns Buwembo has suspended the finance secretary
Peter Ssewagudde, over alleged abuse of office.
In a letter
dated May 25, 2022, Buwembo also accuses Ssewagudde who doubles as the male
youth councilor Luwero Town Council, of insubordination. He claims that
Ssewagudde disrespects him as the political head of the town council.
According to
Buwembo, Ssewagudde utters ill statements about him. He argues that this has
created a poor working relationship between him and the Technical staff, the
councilors, the community, tenderers, and contractors.
Buwembo also
accuses Ssewagudde of allegedly altering the Budget estimates for the FY
2022/23 together with Luwero Town Council Treasurer.

When contacted for a comment about his
suspension, Ssewagudde declined to comment.

Mwesige Kakumba, the councilor Kasana PWD parish who was one of the councilors
to whom the letter was copied, says that the suspension of his colleague is a
shame for the LCIII chairman to write such a letter.MMAccording to
