The deceased person has been identified as Emmanuel Kamanzi. His nephew George Mukasa succumbed to a strange ailment which he has been battling for three days.
A
50-year-old man has taken the decisin to end his life by hanging following the death of his
nephew.
The
double-tragedy occurred last night at Bwami village, Kabarungi parish, in
Lwengo town council.
The
deceased person has been identified as Emmanuel Kamanzi.
Kamanzi's nephew, George Mukasa
succumbed to a strange ailment which he has been battling for three days.
Although
fellow residents suspect Coronavirus Disease, it has not been confirmed by the health
authorities.
According
to residents, Mukasa was Kamanzi’s only family member and the breadwinner. But Jamiru
Mpiima, one of the neighbours says that suicide was not a good option for Kamanzi.

The two dead men will apparently be missed for diverse reasons. Anthony
Luwaga, the Lwengo LCIII Councilor, says Mukasa and Kamanzi were his good colleagues and also his staunch supporters.

The councilor appealed to the residents to remain calm as they wait for police to investigate
the matter.

press time, police had not arrived at the scene of crime.
However,
ASP Peter Akampurira, the District Police Commander (DPC), says that they are going to investigate the matter to establish cause of Mukasa and Kamanzi’s death.
