Byuma village council in Kyazanga town council, Lwengo district has expelled Patience Uwimana, 25, for brutalising her 5-year-old child.

A community meeting was convened this morning and it was unanimously decided that Uwimana stays away from the community or she faces the worst.   This comes just a day after the police in Kampala arrested Uwimana from Bwaise, one of the suburbs in Kawempe division, where she was hiding after the incident.

This follows a video that went viral on social media showing Uwimana brutally punishing her son Alfred Ssebandeke.     According to Moses Kabandeebe, the Byuma LCI Chairperson, the action was inhuman and unacceptable against a toddler no matter the crime he committed.

Ssebandeke vowed to deal with Uwimana in any way  possible if she dares to return to Byuma community.

Jjuuko Kasiita, the Lwengo Resident District Commissioner, says Uwimana, came from Kisoro district where she had just been released from prison for attempted murder.

He says that it is absurd the Byuma village council did not know about her until the brutal incident.
