The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) delegate representing women, Mariam Kaliga Nakulima has said the President of the body will soon be jailed because of corruption.

Speaking during a press conference at Hotel Triangle at Buganda Road on Friday morning, Kaliga said she has all supporting documents to prove that the FUFA President, Moses Magogo is misusing the Federation money.

On September 18th the FUFA executive Committee sacked Kaliga as an executive member for what they called acting against the FUFA, CAF and FIFA statues. Kaliga recently petitioned the Inspector General of Government (IGG) accusing Magogo of corruption and misusing the Federation\'s funds.

She also claimed that her signature was forged on a number of times by the Federation to obtain money under her docket of women football. “I questioned him to show who approved UGX1.5 billion to buy an FM Radio for the Federation. I have been in that executive and no one approved that.” She asked him to show the minutes to support all the transactions under his regime in the last two years.

Kaliga who is also an aspiring candidate for the Member of Parliament seat in Mpigi said that she has nothing personal against Magogo and the FUFA executive, but needs supporting documentation on some of the transaction  at the Federation.

Among the other things Kaliga raised was conflict of interest where she claimed Magogo and his relatives own companies like M/S Sporting Innovations Company and PearlSporto where huge sums of FUFA money is channeled. She faulted Magogo on the unauthorized disposal of two federation vehicles without getting clearance by the executive.

She highlighted that although some people are threatening her life with calls to withdraw the matter, Kaliga said she is determined to fight corruption in Ugandan football. “I need democracy in football without corruption. I am the only female among 13 executive members in FUFA and I think I have cause to fight corruption,\" she added.

On her sacking from the executive, Kaliga said there is no way the Executive can throw her out because it is the Assembly that selected here and not the Executive or the President.

Kaliga said after being suffocated during executive meetings, she has decided to petition the IGG, Auditor General, FIFA, CAF and the National Council of Sports (NCS). When contacted Fufa spokesman Ahmed Hussein said he could not comment on Kaliga\'s allegations. Magogo is expected to return later today from a trip to the FIFA headquarters in Zurich.

FUFA is meant to have a general Assembly in Soroti on Sunday. But Kaliga said she is still consulting her lawyers before deciding if she should attend the Assembly or not.
