Police
in Amolatar District are holding a man over the alleged murder of his son. The
suspect, identified as Ocen Onoi, 25, a resident of Aliga village in Abwong
Parish, Arwotcek Sub County, is accused of killing his four-year-old son. He
was apprehended by police on Wednesday morning and taken to Amolatar Central Police
Station.

indicate that Ocen, a father of two has a history of drug addiction, domestic
violence, and child abuse. Eyewitnesses stated that Ocen was seen walking with
the victim to the swamp on the day of the incident. Christopher Katumba, the
Amolatar District Police Commander, has confirmed the incident stating that
Ocen is in custody as investigations continue.

the time of filing this report, the deceased’s body was being transported to
Amolatar Health Center IV Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination. Tom
Ogwal, the LC III Chairperson of Arwotcek, stated that Ocen had already
abandoned the children. He condemned the act of murder and urged the police to
expedite the investigation and ensure the suspect was brought before the court.
