Police in Agago District are searching for Alex Ojera, who allegedly killed his wife, Jenet Atuku, 48, in Barajwa Village, Adilang Sub-county.

Reports indicate that the couple had burned charcoal in the bush and stored it in their grass-thatched house before leaving to collect more. While they were away, the house caught fire.

Later, Ojera attempted to sell the remaining charcoal to buy alcohol, but Atuku objected. A heated argument started, and she grabbed his shirt, tearing it. Ojera allegedly punched her in the neck, causing her to collapse.

Andrew Okot, the LCI Secretary of Barajwa Village, rushed her to Fragale clinic in Adilang, but she was later pronounced dead on arrival.

Ojera fled the village, and police have launched a manhunt. Aswa East Region Acting Police spokesperson, Joe Oloya,, confirmed the incident and urged the public to report any information on his whereabouts.
