According to Sam Twineamazima the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson the two were allegedly attacked at around 9:20 pm by Tarsis Oweyesiga who hacked them to death.
Residents of Migyera town Council in Nakasongola district woke up in shock on Friday morning on learning that two lovers had been hacked to death on Thursday night.
The deceased have been identified as Hadijjah Nangobi aged 44 years and another one named Vincent all living together at Posta zone in Migyera town.
According to Sam Twineamazima the Savannah Region Police Spokesperson the two were allegedly attacked at night around 9:20 pm by Tarsis Oweyesiga who hacked them to death.
Twineamazima explains that Oweyesiga a resident of Nalukonge zone in Migyera town had a love affair with Nangobi but it ended in January this year before she eloped to Vincent.
However this didn't go well with Oweyesiga and on Thursday night, armed with a panga he attacked the two as they prepared before to rest. He allegedly hacked them to death as witnessed by Nangobi's 12-year-old daughter.
Twineamazima adds that upon getting the information from the area LC 1 Chairman Ibrahim Lukandwa , Policemen rushed to the scene but the suspect had fled.
The dead bodies were transferred to Nakasongola Health Center 1V for postmortem as the hunt for the killer goes on.
Last year Police in Nakasongola district arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife and daughter before he secretly buried them in a forest.
Daniel Toyo of Kalungu village in Wabinyonyi sub-county was arrested for killing his wife, Kate Acio alias Kisakye aged 24 years, and his three-year-old daughter.
