The two have been entangled in daily fights, until Wednesday night when Busiku allegedly battered his wife to death, locked her up in their grass thatched house before fleeing.
Police in Namayingo district is hunting for 45 year old Paul Busiku a resident of Gorofa village in Dolwe island for allegedly killing his own wife, Juliet Nabatanzi.
It is reported that the two have been entangled in daily fights, until Wednesday night when Busiku battered his wife to death, locked her up in their grass thatched house before fleeing.
Nabatanzi's body was only recovered by neighbors who forcefully opened the door after failing to see her anywhere throughout the morning.
Lovisa Namutebi, a resident of Gorofa says that,the deceased has only been married to Busiku for six months before the incident. "These two have only lived together for close to six months but the suspect has been physically assaulting the deceased," she said. "Nabatanzi has lived in this neighborhood for close to three years but Busiku is a new resident and most of us don't know much about him."
On his part, James Mubi, the Busoga East police spokesperson says that detectives have been dispatched along the different landing sites in both Namayingo and Mayuge districts to ensure that the suspect is arrested.
