Namukuve's lifeless body was found lying in her bedroom around 12:00 pm on Monday afternoon. Rwampara is suspected to have killed the deceased on Sunday night.
Kiira Region Police has launched a manhunt
for a man suspected of strangling his wife to death.
The suspect is Godfrey
Rwampara, a resident of Buwekula cell in the Northern division in Jinja city.
He is
suspected of strangling to death his wife, Betty Namukuve before fleeing into
hiding.
Namukuve's lifeless body was found lying in her bedroom around 12:00 pm on
Monday afternoon. Rwampara is suspected to have killed the deceased on Sunday
night.
The couple's six-year-old boy says that his father left home in the
night without explaining where he was headed to.
"My parents fight on a daily basis
but last night, I saw my father living the house," he said. Proscovia
Nairuba, a resident within the area, says that the couple has been entangled in
disputes over land.
"These two are my neighbours but Rwampara wanted to
sell off their land without Namukuve's consent, which led to countless fights,"
she said.
Kiira Region Police spokesperson, Abbey
Ngako, says Namukuve's body is lying at Jinja Regional Referral Hospital
mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Ngako says that they have since notified security
operatives in the neighbouring districts to ensure that the suspect is tracked
down and apprehended.
