An angry mob
in Bukwo district has stoned a man accused of killing his wife. The mob casualty has been identified as 43-year-old Joseph Musau Mukung, a resident of Chemuron
village in Mutushet Sub County.
The mob accused Mukung him of beating to death his wife identified as Rahab
Chebet, a mother of two, on Saturday September 23rd after suspecting
her of having an extramarital affair with another man.

Cheptuket, a neighbor to the family told Uganda Radio Network that the couple
had a serious quarrel on the same day early in the morning that created into a grave
fight.
According to Cheptuket, she
heard the woman crying for help, but unfortunately she couldn't intervene for the man had
locked himself and the wife inside the house. “I took a step to call other neighbors
to intervene and upon arrival to Mukung’s house, he had already taken off, leaving his wife lifeless on the house floor” stated, Cheptuket.

Chesang, the Sipi Region Spokesperson, confirmed the incident, saying, Police
have commenced with the investigation to ascertain the main cause of the gruesome
acts committed by the deceased suspect and by the angry Mob. Chessang says, information at hand indicates that Mukung, the mob casualty, was way laid by the mob in neighboring Kapsarur Sub County as he was trying to flee to Kenya.
Chesang
says, the bodies are at Bukwo hospital Mortuary pending postmortem. He appealed
to couples to seek counseling services in case of wrangles. He also cautioned
the public against mob justice and instead seek justice through police and
local leaders.
