Residents of Bumufuni
Parish, Khabutoola sub-county, Manafwa district have protested over the impassable Mare-Kalidi road.
According to residents, the leaders should be blamed for the poor state of the roads because they are too slow to respond to their concerns. They are also bitter
with their leaders for unfulfilled pledges to rehabilitate the road during his
2021 campaigns.
Robert Malinga,
Makwa Samson, and
Wakoko Samson say that they are facing a challenge transporting expectant
mothers to the Health facilities and their agricultural goods to the market.
According to Sezi Kaboole, the Chairperson LCIII, Khabutoola
Sub-county, the Sub County receives only two million shillings every
financial year which is inadequate to rehabilitate all the 20 roads in the Sub
County.
Sezi has urged the residents to be calm since Maare-Kalidi road
has been put in the plan to be rehabilitated in the next financial year.
