Police in Masaka are investigating the brutal killing of a minor. The deceased has been identified as three-year-old Faith Kyamagero, a daughter to Charles Ssenyonga, a resident of Kijabwemi in Kimanya Kyabukuza division in Masaka city.

She was reportedly picked up by Joseph Nuwashaba, a casual labourer at her parent’s home. The suspect beheaded the minor and dumped and her body at the National Water and Sewerage Cooperation treatment plant near the fence.

Kyamagero’s father, Ssenyonga says that Nuwashaba left home with the minor around 6 pm on Sunday. “We waited for them to come back home after taking long but all in vain only to get information that my daughter’s body had been recovered without a head dumped at the roadside”, he said.

Muhammad Nsubuga, the Southern Region police spokesperson, says they have handed over the deceased’s body to Masaka Regional Referral hospital for postmortem.

"We are investigating alleged child sacrifice since the minor's head is still missing even after a long search at the place where the body was found using a sniffer dog," he said.
