Incumbent LCV chairpersons for Masindi, Kiryandongo and Buliisa districts have lost their seats in the Wednesday Local Government elections.
They are; Wilson Isingoma Mugimba, the LCV chairperson for Masindi district, who contested as an independent, Ben Constantine Grace Moru, (independent) the LCV chairperson for Kiryandongo district and Fred Lukumu (independent), the LCV chairperson for Buliisa district.
Cosmas Byaruhanga, the NRM party flag bearer for the Masindi LCV seat beat Mugimbaa with a margin of 12,000 votes. According to results announced by the Masindi district returning officer Ibrahim Kizindo, Byaruhanga got 26,595 votes against Mugimba's 14,651 votes.
In Kiryandongo district, Ben Moru (independent) lost to the ruling National Resistance Movement party candidate Charles Ntairehoki. Moru got 8,712 votes against Ntairehoki's 15,800 votes.
In Buliisa district, Simon Kinene, an independent beat the incumbent LCV chairperson Fred Lukumu. The NRM party flag bearer garnered 13,316 votes against Lukumu's 11,548 votes.
