Two medical officers in Apac hospital have been interdicted for harassing patients in breach of their professional ethics.

George Okello, an enrolled nurse and Herbert Opio a medical assistant, were interdicted yesterday.

The two were interdicted by the district following numerous complaints from patients on their conduct.

Okello is accused of removing a drip, slapping and forcing a patient to vacate the hospital.

Alfred Achanga, the medical superintendent Apac hospital has confirmed the interdiction of the two officials.

Achanga says that he has been getting complaints of harassment but his efforts to discipline the accused staff were being frustrated by higher authorities.

Francis Odap, the principal personnel officer Apac says that, George Okello and Herbert Opio had repeatedly been warned in vain to reform.

Alex Jurua, the RDC Apac says that government can not sit back and watch civil servants harass tax payers. He says that they are going to launch an operation to weed out errant officers.

Lydia Awor and Jimmy Ocen, who were found at hospital waiting for treatment this morning, said some of the medical staffs are too rude.

Awor claimed that two patients died in the hospital early this week because they were not attended too, althoug we couldn't independently verify the claims.
