Members of Poisoned Family Discharged from Hospital

The four; Agnes Fambe, Paulina Issa, Clement Atugonza and Fortunate Mwambe, all residents of Kilyango in Buliisa district, were part of a family of nine that allegedly eat food which was laced with poison a week ago. Five of the relatives died from Buliisa Hospital where they had been rushed after developing complications.
Four members of a family that were rushed to Buliisa Hospital after eating suspected poisoned food have been discharged.   

The four; Agnes Fambe, Paulina Issa, Clement Atugonza and Fortunate Mwambe, all residents of Kilyango in Buliisa district, were part of a family of nine that allegedly eat food which was laced with poison a week ago.  Five of the relatives died from Buliisa Hospital where they had been rushed after developing complications.     

The meal comprising cassava flour and Fish was prepared Agness Naume, the mother to the deceased children. It is not clear how it was poisoned, but according to reports, the family members developed acute diarrhoea and Vomiting soon after the meal.  

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network on Wednesday that the four family members who had been hospitalized were on Wednesday Morning discharged after responding positively to treatment.   

A nurse at Buliisa Hospital who attended to the patients and spoke to URN on condition of anonymity explains that although the patients were looking weak, their condition had improved at the time they were discharged.
