Mohammed Nsereko, the Kampala Central Member of parliament and his Ndorwa West counterpart, David Bahati are the latest entrants in the race for the position of deputy speaker of parliament.

Bahati picked the expression of interest forms from the National Resistance Movement-NRM party Electoral Commission this morning. He arrived at the NRM party offices shortly after 11 a.m and was received by NRM EC chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi, who handed him forms.

Bahati told journalists that his interest in the position is backed by his vast experience in matters of legislature and support from his fellow legislators. He explained that his experience as NRM caucus deputy chairman, treasurer and deputy chief whip among others are a huge boost to his credentials as a leader.

He further cautioned Independents interested in vying for the positions not to bother, saying NRM will use its numbers to win the positions.
