Missing 60-Year-Old Woman Found Dead

A 60-year-old woman who went missing from Bigga village in Kyesiiga sub-county in Masaka district has been found dead.

Jane Lwegaba disappeared from her home in Bigga village on Tuesday prompting her family members and relatives to search for her in vain.   

But on Wednesday morning, residents found the deceased’s body partially buried in the sand.

Mudashiru Bbaale, the speaker Kyesiiga sub-county, says that they initially didn’t recognize the deceased until when police took her body for postmortem.    

Police returned to the village and residents were able to identify the deceased, who is believed to have been strangled and her body dumped in the bush.

Bbaale says that Lwegaba’s husband was away at the time of the incident.

Muhammad Nsubuga, the Masaka Regional Police spokesperson, says they are investigating circumstances under, which Lwegaba was taken from her home and murdered.
