The missing Bugiri LC V candidate has been found in Mukono. Abdu Balingilira Nakendo and his son Ibrahim Kizire were found by the police near the home of Brigadier Proscovia Nalweyiso, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Defense and Security in Ntaawo zone in Mukono municipality on Monday afternoon.

It came several hours after the duo was reportedly kidnapped by six men from their home in Bwole cell in Bugiri town council in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Hajira Nakendo, the daughter to Abdu Balingilira Nakendo says the duo was found tied with ropes in a bush without water and food.

According to Nakendo, they were told by medics at Mukono health center IV that the kidnap victims were weak and dehydrated but not in danger.  Hassan Lubale, the chairperson of the elect Balingilira task force told URN last evening that they were still awaiting a medical examination report from the hospital.

He however, says that the fact that his candidate is still alive has raised the hopes of his supporters ahead of the 19th March Bugiri LC V bye-elections. Edirisa Kyeyune, the Bugiri District Police Commander says they are investigating to find those behind the kidnap of Nakendo and his son.

This is the second time Nakendo is being kidnapped. In 1980, Nakendo was kidnapped after he defeated Patrick Mwondha, the UPC candidate in the parliamentary election. He surfaced after spending six years in Luzira prisons. Nakendo is contesting against Muhammad Walangirila, Simon Fuuna, both independents, Bumali Luba FDC and NRM\'s Siraj Lyavaala.

The elections are scheduled for March 19th 2015. The Bugiri LC V seat was declared vacant after court found Marijan Azalwa, the former LC V chair guilty of assaulting his rival Daudi Mulengani on the eve of the 2011 polls and sent him to jail.
