Missing Bundibugyo Man Found Dead in Flooded Valley

A 38-year-old man who went missing in Bundibugyo district has been found dead. 

Zabron Baguma’s body was found floating in a flooded valley in Nyaundigere and Bundimulombi villages. He went missing on Monday.

On Monday, water submerged gardens in Bundimulombi 1 village in Bundikeki parish in Kirumya Sub County in Bundibugyo District. The water flooded Nyankiro valley, which sits between Bundigere and Bundimulombi villages.

According to the residents, the water that had occupied the area began forming last week.

Pauline Baraza the deceased’s father said at first they thought his son was arrested by police for flouting covid-19 regulations but was shocked to be informed that he had discovered his body floating in the water.

The Bundibugyo Acting DPC Enos Koojo said they have embarked on investigating the incident .

Julius Businge a Geo- Observer in Bundikeki parish working with Mountains of the Moon University-Fort Portal, last week told URN last week said that the position occupied by the water was originally a route for the small Nyankiro stream.

This stream was blocked by the 2019 massive landslides leading to the recent stagnation of water.
