It is alleged that Tukumusaba went missing on Monday from her grandmother’s home at around 9 a.m.
A 5-year-old
girl who went missing in Kibaale has been found dead. Florence Tukumusaba, a resident of Kacu
village, Kyakazaire sub-county was staying with her grandmother Sefuroza
Nyangoma.
It is alleged that Tukumusaba went missing on Monday from her grandmother’s
home at around 9 a.m.
According to Sefuroza, she thought Tukumusaba had gone to play with her fellow
children in the neighborhood but got concerned when she waited for her to
return home in vain.
This prompted her to alert other area residents who embarked on the search for
the child in vain. She later reported a case of a missing person at Kibaale Central
Police Station.
On Thursday, Tukumusaba’s body was found dumped in a maize garden in the same
village. The body was found with multiple injuries in the head and chest.
Police picked up the body that was later conveyed to Kibaale Health center IV
where it is currently lying pending a postmortem.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson says that investigations
have commenced but no arrest has been made.
He has called on the residents to cooperate with the police by providing vital
information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
