A man who went missing in Kakumiro
district has been found dead in a dam.
The deceased is Sodias Aharimpihya
32, a resident of Rwemirama village in Nyabirungu village, Kisiita town council
in Kakumiro district. It is reported that the deceased went missing from his
home on December 23rd, 2023.
This prompted residents to report the
matter to the police.
Christine Mugisa, a relative to
the deceased, says that they became suspicious when Aharimpihya failed to return
home. This compelled them to report the matter to the police.
Residents together with the
police mounted a search for the missing person in vain. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region
police spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network-URN on Christmas that after a
thorough search, the deceased’s lifeless body was found floating in a water dam on Sunday afternoon. Police retrieved the body and conveyed it to Kakumiro Health Center IV where it is currently lying pending postmortem.
