A 5-year-old boy who went missing in Kikuube has been found dead.

Samuel Ajuna went missing from his parents' home in Nyakafunjo village Butole parish Kyangwali sub county in Kikuube on Sunday evening at around 6pm.

This compelled his parents to report a case of missing person at Kikuube central police station  after they waited for him to come home in vain. Since then, police and the parents have been searching for the boy.

However, On Monday evening his lifeless body was discovered lying in a banana plantation belonging to Patrick Ntasuki a resident of the same area.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says police was immediately alerted and rushed to the crime scene and picked the body that was later taken to Kikuube Health Center IV for postmortem.

According to Hakiza, the body had bruises in the neck an indication that the juvenile was strangled to death by unknown people before his lifeless body was dumped in the banana plantation. The body was later handed over to the parents for burial arrangements after postmortem had been conducted.

Hakiza says though no one has so far been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of the boy, police has launched investigations to ascertain the motives behind the boy’s murder and those who masterminded his brutal killing.
