A student of Kyayi Seed Secondary school in Kisoro district who went missing on Friday last week has been found dead. The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Venisiana Tushimimana, a resident of resident of Rusharu village Muganza parish in Kyahi Sub county Kisoro district.
Tushimimana disappeared while returning home from school. Her relatives started hunting for her in vain and decided to file a police missing persons report. However, her body was found in a banana plantation about 500 meters from her home on Monday.
According to the police, the deceased’s body was bruised. Police suspects that the teenager could have been raped before she was killed.Ely Maate, the Kigezi regional Police spokesperson says they are still awaiting the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death. He says they are following on the available clues to find the murderers.
Maate, however declined to disclose whether they had a lead on the prime suspect.
