The outbreak is estimated to have affected 62 districts, the most affected being Mbale, Kamuli, Amuru and Butebo, according to the Ministry of Health. 25 other districts have been affected by Rubella with more than 20 cases of death reported.

According to Dr Driwale, the last measles patient was sent home from Mbarara Referral Hospital last week on Sunday.

Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister of Health says that the cases that are being received in hospitals are skin rushes that are not measles.  She attributed the decrease in measles cases to the mass Measles/Rubella immunization campaign that was carried out by the health ministry last month.
