Monday Ambush Claims 6 DRC Soldiers

 Six Congolese soldiers have died in an ambush at Rugari, about 50 kilometers from Goma in Rutshuru territory.  The ambush was executed by unidentified gunmen around midday on Monday.

 

Colonel Olivier Hamuli, the spokesperson of the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC says the six soldiers were traveling aboard a military truck from Rutshuru territory to the North Kivu provincial capital of Goma.

 

Rusturu territory is occupied by various armed groups including the Mai Mai, Nyantura, and Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda- FDLR among others.
