Moroto Aspirant Murder Suspects Charged

Prosecution accuses the five suspects of killing a National Resistance Movement aspirant for LC 5 Councillor for Nadunget sub-county.

Moroto Grade One Magistrate, Grace Balintuma has remanded five suspects on charges of murdering a National Resistance Movement party aspirant in October.

The five were charged before the court, and were not allowed to enter plea because of the nature of the offence.

The suspects include Akudo Lote and Lokiru Ilukol who are the main suspects. Others are Paul Komarem and Local Defence personnel Emmanuel Lochan and Peter Lotyang.

Court heard that around 1st October 2015, the suspects and others still large while at Nachogorom village in Moroto district killed Raphel Eritoi, a political aspirant for LC 5 Councillor for Nadunget sub-county.

The group was remanded to Moroto Central Prisons till 4th December, 2015.
