The two women Lepukech Lokeris and one Chepusekem seized the cattle from the kraal of Mzee Losigiria Icumar (80) whom they accused of masterminding the death of Chepusekem\'s son, Lokut Kolyau.
Kolyau a 12 year-old, was shot during the festive season by unknown assailants as he reportedly searched for edible rats in Moroto district. The incident happened at Naturongole village, Kosiroi parish in Tapac Sub County 45 kilometers East of Moroto town.
In vengeance, Chepusekem with her friend decided to forcefully drive animals from the home of the helpless elder into neighboring Loima district, Kenya.
Capt. Denis Omara, the UPDF 3rd Division spokesperson confirms the development saying security agencies are hunting for both the animals and the women.
Omara says the women should have reported to the police their suspicions instead of deciding to compensate themselves without proof.
He asks the authorities in Loima district, Kenya to help the UPDF track the animals now hidden inside Kenya.
Micheal Akol, an elder in Tapac condemns the action taken by the women saying there is no proof that the elder participated in the death of their son. He asks the mother to the deceased to return all the cows or face the law.
