Older persons in Moyo District have expressed concern about the absence of specialist doctors to manage their health conditions.

Hajji Sebbi Longa, the Chairperson of the Council of the Older Persons raised the complaint during the Moyo District budget conference held on Tuesday.

He explained that there was no mention in the district budget about specialist medical personnel to handle elderly persons and demanded to know how the district intends to handle their health.

In his response, Charles Adrawa, the Assistant Moyo District Health Officer in charge of Maternal and Child Health defended government, saying there is no specialized training institution for Geriatric doctors and nurses in Uganda.
